Studio Stoneware fish Sculpture made by Carl-Harry Stalhane at his own studio in the 1980s. Glossy black/light blue(cream glaze with decoration in matte glaze depicting water.. He run the studio from 1973-90.
The fish is unique signed and burned in the china oven of the studio, which came into use after 1985. The fish is marked Ching-Te-ChemG, after the Chinese porcelain district, and it bears also the mark of the selection of the glaze / minerals that have been used. The furnace was used to unique experimental productions. Stalhane has undoubtedly been inspired by a month long trip to the Seychellesto in the early 1980s.
