Unique Niels Thorsson stoneware bowl from Royal Copenhagen, 1937. The glaze is "Solfatara", invented by Niels Thorsson and the engineer at Royal Copenhagen H.A.L Mads Lund.. The small bowl is numbered 8362 and 5128. In the stoneware catalog for Royal Copenhagen the equivalent model is numbered 20352. It means that this bowl is a test model creating the basis for the subsequent production. Sample models – shape- as well as glaze-wise - was at the time sold respectively as semi-unique and unique pieces. Source: stentøj, Den kongelige Porcelainsfabrik. Leif Lautrup-Larsen.
