Rare Arsall Studio Cameo Glass Vase – Art Deco Landscape
An exceptional example of multi-layered cameo art glass, this vase was crafted circa 1920 by the Arsall Glass Studio in Rothenburg, Germany. Arsall specialized in producing intricate, high-quality cameo pieces that bridged the flowing lines of Art Nouveau and the structured elegance of Art Deco.
This 12-inch tall vase features a dramatic landscape scenery meticulously carved through multiple layers of glass. The effect is achieved by applying three layers of colored glass—rich brown, red, and dark green—over a brilliant, opaque light yellow ground layer. The carving process leaves a sculptural, textured surface that captures fine detail in the trees and terrain.
Cameo glass of this size and complexity by Arsall is highly sought after by collectors of European Art Glass for its sophisticated color palette and museum-quality craftsmanship.
