A museum-quality piece of High Art Deco: this large stoneware vase (Grès Keramis) was designed by the celebrated master ceramicist Charles Catteau (1880-1966) for Boch Frères Keramis in Belgium.
Dating to the height of the Art Deco period (1923), this vase features a distinctive flattened mouth and is finished in subtle, elegant beige and grey glazes, highlighted by a rich drip glaze on the upper section.
Catteau's Grès pieces are highly prized among collectors for their material quality and sophisticated finish.
