This is a monumental work of Danish studio pottery, one of the largest forms produced in the highly regarded Burgundia Series by Søholm Ceramics.
The vessel stands 22" tall and is distinguished by its dramatically twisted, sculptural form. The complex shaping of the clay creates an optical illusion of movement, a feat of craftsmanship at this scale. This powerful piece perfectly reflects the abstract and Brutalist tendencies of the Mid-Century period. The body is finished with the classic Burgundia texture and is stamped with Søholm Bornholm 2050.
