This rare Gunnar Nylund Bing Grondahl stoneware vase represents the early career of one of Scandinavia’s most influential ceramicists. Designed shortly after Nylund joined Bing & Grøndahl in 1926, this piece (Model 2270) showcases the transition toward the iconic Danish Modern aesthetic.
The vase features a classic oblong body with two elegant handles. The Gunnar Nylund Bing Grondahl stoneware vase is finished in a rich, flaming brown glaze reminiscent of the French and Swedish flambé traditions.
Note: As is common with early high-fire studio stoneware, the glaze features natural variations and lighter "cloud" stains, which highlight the hand-crafted nature of the piece.
