Dark tinted art deco glass vase  with engraved nude designed by Simon Gate (1883-1945) for Orrefors, Sweden..

 Gate was graduated from the art and craft school in 1909. At first he worked as a  portrait painter, but came to Orrefors Glassworks  in 1916, where he and another artist, Edvard Hald, spearheaded the development of Swedish art glass in the 20th century. The international breakthrough came in 1925 at the World Exhibition in Paris
