Murano Art Glass, Italy
The glass production at the Italian island of Murano near Venice began in 1291. The modern Murano Art Glass were widespread in 1950/60, where the glass works also began a comprehensive production intended for tourists in Venice. The glass production is still very large. .Collectors of vintage art glass from Murano are found the world over. Some of the most famous studios and names are Serguso, Toso, Cenedese, Mandruzzato, Salviati and Farro.
