This captivating art glass object is a definitive example of the work of Flavio Poli (1900–1984), who served as the artistic director for Seguso Vetri d'Arte from 1934 to 1963.5 Poli is internationally recognized as the innovator and master of the sommerso glass technique.6

 

Created in the 1960s, this piece features a thick, hand-worked body with strong faceted geometry, giving the simple form a crystalline complexity. The glass layers—composed of vibrant amber and deep green submerged in a clear casing—capture and refract light beautifully, defining the elegant, modernist aesthetic of the period.
