Saxbo

The sculptor Gunnar Nylund (1904-1996) and chemical engineer Nathalie Krebs (1895-1978) founded the ceramic studio 'Nylund and Krebs' in 1929. In 1930 they changed the name to Saxbo, which, right up to the 1960s, produced quality items. Nylund left in 1931 to join the Swedish porcelain and ceramics business Rorstrand, and Krebs started working together with ceramicist Axel Salto. Eva Stæhr Nielsen joined Saxbo some years later.

Early in the 1930's Nathalie Krebs invented and developed a series of glazes - including the famous 'Hare Fur' and other glazes as 'Bird Feathers', and 'arctic fox'.
