This elegant ceramic flower frog figurine was designed by the acclaimed Swedish ceramicist and sculptor Einar Luterkort (1905-1981) during his tenure at Upsala Ekeby.4 Dating from the early 1930s, this piece embodies the Scandinavian Art Deco aesthetic.
 
Luterkort graduated from the Royal Art School in 1929 and honed his skills in Paris, Rome, and Munich before settling in Sweden.5 His collaboration with Stig Lindberg to develop ceramic glazes preceded his influential 1931 arrival at Upsala Ekeby, from which this specific figure originates.6 Luterkort is also widely recognized for his numerous public sculptures in Sweden.7
