Per Lütken Holmegaard Safir Art Glass Vases – Set of Two
Two modernist art glass vases from the Safir series, designed by the legendary Per Lütken for Holmegaard, Denmark, in 1955.
Known for his mastery of "soft" forms and vivid colors, Lütken served as the artistic director at Holmegaard for over 50 years. This set features the highly desirable "Sapphire" blue color, rendered in three graduated sizes that exemplify the minimalist, sculptural elegance of the Danish Mid-Century period.
Holmegaard Safir glass vase set (Model 16910), designed by the legendary Per Lütken in 1955. This pair of "Sapphire" blue chimney vases exemplifies Lütken’s philosophy of "soft" organic modernism. Each vase features a substantial, weighted base that tapers elegantly into a narrow neck, creating a striking silhouette when displayed as a pair.

About the Artist: Per Lütken
Per Lütken was the heart of Holmegaard for over half a century (1942–1998). He is credited with creating more than 3,000 designs, many of which are now considered icons of Scandinavian glass. The Safir series is particularly beloved by collectors for its depth of color and its "heavy-bottomed" stability, making these vases as functional as they are sculptural.
