Michael Andersen Art Deco Vase crafted on the Danish island of Bornholm. This striking ceramic piece features a classic Art Deco silhouette, decorated with sculptural, raised floral motifs around the body. The vase is finished in a sophisticated, multi-toned glaze—blending deep forest greens with earthy, reddish-brown oxblood tones that characteristic of the studio’s experimental period in the early 20th century.

About Michael Andersen & Søn
Established in 1890 by Jens Michael Andersen, this workshop became a pillar of Danish ceramic art. Jens Michael was trained at the famed L. Hjorth studio before founding his own enterprise in Rønne.
The factory gained international acclaim under the artistic direction of his eldest son, Daniel Andersen, who introduced avant-garde glazes inspired by his travels to Vienna and the Czech Republic. The studio is perhaps most famous for the "Persia" glaze, which won the gold medal at the 1935 Brussels World Exhibition. Over the decades, the studio collaborated with prestigious artists such as Knud Kyhn, Jacob Bregnø, and Ernst Weber.
