The Désirée Stentøj Story: A Short-Lived Danish Treasure.

This is an exceptional piece of mid-century stoneware, crafted by the highly sought-after Danish studio, Désirée Stentøj. The vase is featuring a rare square form with relief decoration complemented by a masterful oxblood (or 'sang-de-boeuf') glaze.

Founded in 1964 by H. C. Torbøl—the respected former director of the prestigious Bing & Grøndahl—the Désirée studio operated for only a brief period. This limited existence is what makes their work so rare and desirable among collectors today. Their pieces perfectly capture the essence of Danish Modernism, blending natural, tactile stoneware with sophisticated, organic forms.

Condition and Provenance: This vase is in excellent vintage condition and displays beautifully. It is fully signed on the base with the authentic studio mark: Désirée Stentøj Denmark 4003.
