An extraordinary find for the connoisseur of Nordic studio pottery: a large Gutte Eriksen OSA Keramik jar, produced in 1941 at the Hareskov studio north of Copenhagen..
This vase originates from the very earliest days of the OSA workshop, a high-level artistic collaboration between Aase Feilberg, Christian Frederiksen, and Gutte Eriksen. Because the collaboration dissolved in 1942, pieces marked "OSA" that feature Eriksen’s signature high-fired chamotte technique and raw, architectural glazing are incredibly scarce.
Gutte Eriksen (1918–2008) would go on to become a titan of internationally recognized studio ceramics, with works housed in major global museums.
This jar captures her foundational aesthetic—focused on material honesty, earth-toned glazes, and robust form. It is a critical museum-quality piece representing the birth of Danish modern studio ceramics.
