Sitzendorfer Porzellan: Art Deco Lighting
This rare, matched pair of porcelain lamp bases originates from the distinguished Sitzendorfer Porzellanmanufaktur in Thuringia, Germany. Founded in 1850 (and tracing its roots back to 1760), Sitzendorf is recognized globally for its high-quality production, particularly during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The Art Deco Period
Produced during the height of the Art Deco movement (c. 1920s–1930s), these bases move away from the figurative Rococo styles the factory was best known for, offering a more streamlined, geometric aesthetic fitting the era's taste for modern design. The pristine white porcelain provides an ideal neutral base for the addition of contemporary shades. They are professionally wired and ready to be used as functional, antique lighting.
Provenance
Model number 2269 and the factory mark place this pair definitively within the early 20th-century output of the Sitzendorfer factory.
Condition: Presented in excellent vintage condition with professionally updated wiring.
