A superb example of studio pottery by Gerd Bøgelund for the Royal Copenhagen Art Pottery workshop.8 Bøgelund worked extensively at the factory from 1946 onward, creating both production designs and these highly individualistic "unique" pieces.
This stoneware vessel (Model No. unknown/unique) is distinguished by its expertly applied textured decoration. The base stoneware has an incised pattern that interacts dynamically with the deep red-brown and ochre crystalline glaze, resulting in a variegated surface that shifts color and tone with the light.
The quality and rarity of these individual pieces are highly regarded in the market for Danish Mid-Century
